I've got the 16 ch Amcrest DVR HD TVI etc
When I enable the ftp, the DVR uploads massive .DAV files that are crashing my server's hard drive space.
What are these files? And how can I disable their upload and just have .jpg uploads?
ftp .dav files?
Re: ftp .dav files?
.dav = video file format that is use to neither man nor beast and has to be converted to say .mp4 before you can work with it.
Don't know about Amcrest dvr but I'd think you need to search the alarm settings and see if you can specify snapshot only and NOT record when triggered.

Re: ftp .dav files?
It looks like if you enable FTP, the Amcrest DVR begins to use it as some sort of video backup. There are multiple ways to use the FTP, including just to push periodic still images, which Is what I want to enable without the large .DAV uploads, and apparently setting the "upload file size" parameter doesn't help.
ANYBODY with Amcrest actually around here to answer?

Re: ftp .dav files?
Try this:
To stop recording of DAV files, go to Settings/Storage/Record, and stop all recording except Snapshots.
Described in DVR User Manual, page 125.

Re: ftp .dav files?
Won't that disable the DVR recording on the internal hard drive? I don't want to do that. I just want to stop the FTP.DAV files
Re: ftp .dav files?
Yes, I agree and don't see another way to do it.

Re: ftp .dav files?
I've submitted two separate requests to amcrest support and not heard anything back.... very frustrating.
Re: ftp .dav files?
I have the same problem here. My .dav files are just random and would like to stop that.
