NDAA isn't always everything that it is cracked up to be lol

Post by Revo2Maxx »

Ok so I don't really like to say bad things about different brands of hardware. However I thought for some that might be looking at buying some hardware that can be very costly.. POE AI PTZ and 16ch POE AI NVR for just under 1400 and prices differ depending on the dealer you buy it from... Sure 3 years Warranty but isn't really as easy as it sounds lol... Fumbling around little made this video take little longer then it should have been, Yet you know if you know me that I like to cover all things and for this issue with this combo I do that to give a complete idea of how something works or don't work in this case.... You be the Judge.. https://youtu.be/o0ufTAPFcqg

Today I don't make any changes to my Face Detection that I have setup on my NVR and PTZ camera that I have setup for emails if there is no Mask being worn and while it was working up to yesterday that has for no good reason not sent any email about that lol. Sure I have some normal Face Detection emails but none sent today are saying anything about the No Mask.. Funny thing is have it setup for Notices to be Pushed and setup for P2P and can access the NVR, Camera without being connected but have not had any notices in this camera or NVR since the last update lol At least the Emails are working Kind of, lol.. Just saying Starting to think I should call this the Kind of works Security.

Yaaa today the Alarts started again.. Now I get so many Recording changed for my PTZ camera that I still can't find how to stop getting that alert. At least Amcrest cameras are easy to find and enable to disable alerts from the cameras menu if not from the app it self. Even if I only pick VCA in the app I am still getting many alerts about recording and only change is that it has started or stopped lol. Why do I need a push alert for that lol line crossing alerts were slower to come then others lol

NDAA compliant is a device that is not made in China, nor have any parts made in China and not connecting to any server in China for any reason.
Currently, about 60% of the NDAA compliant cameras are under scrutiny so just because they claim NDAA compliance doesn't mean that it is.

Hate to mention the China thing isn't 100% based on facts.. Uniview that is made in China is on the list of being NDAA compliant. Just saying..

So here is another thing.. In pictures I was showing some Email data that was sent. Come to find out after having to reset all my devices back to factory lol that it was in fact my Alibi devices that was causing my Hosting company to Black List my IP address. Because of the Support staff saying that there was something trying to log into my email server from my Static IP address using a Root account the only device I knew of that even had root in the name was my Router so I turned that off from sending me emails a week or so later I was again banned.. Then thought ok what was the last items that I setup to the Email service, So I reset my 5108-i3 and my 4216-E1 back to factory and that still didn't stop me from being banned lol. So I went and either turned off if able or I had to reset all my devices back to factory *only a couple devices were able to be toggled off* so I could find out what it was. I added back in the last ones I added first to test. After a couple of weeks no ban so I added back a couple of cameras that I thought was important. I then added back the 16ch POE Ai NVR that is the for this camera and within 24 hours I was banned again.. lol.. I was like ok remove and waited for 4 days and I added my AI PTZ camera and within 25 hours I was banned again.. So had my Hosting company un-ban me once again.. So I thought ok lets see if all the Prodcuts are plagued with this issue. I added in one of my 4mp zoom turret cameras from them and sure enough within 12 hours I was again banned from my hosting company servers that made it so I couldn't access my website or emails..

The good news is that my Hosting company was awesome and didn't charge me any extra for Support seeing my other hosting company that I still use today for my .com server would have charged me.. So yeah InMotion web hosting offers some great services. Now I no longer have any of my NDAA supported devices sending me emails on events and another of the many issues that I have with the product. Geez I could only guess what a school or some other company that is Required to have a NDAA only device that try to use for email notices what a PITA..

Anyway the NVR has some crazy debugging software and then it points this NVR not even being built by who I thought it was. So all along I thought it was a SuperCircuits NVR that was setup as Alibi, That is kind of the case, Yet the device is built by Uniview and the mother unit is NVR302-16S2-P16 and that device is NDAA as well. Then looking at the first 2 company that sales the Uniview version they are 699-899 lol Crazy with all the issues that I have with this. What was paid for it with the Alibi was enough to make anyone mad with all the issues lol.. I mean sure maybe the issue is only related to Alibi Firmware and maybe the Uniview don't have the same issues. With all the other things that I dis-like these device I find it hard to think it is only Alibi issue..
