The flip issue can be fixed by logging into the cloud and editing the camera settings in the cloud to flip the correct way you want. This will affect the camera directly.
Could you possibly post screen shots? I'm also having the same issue, and when I log into my cloud account I can't find anywhere that allows for me to change any settings regarding the camera other than to tilt/move the camera.

Nevermind, I believe I figured it out. Didn't realize you basically had to click right on top of the tiny arrow to get the drop down menu to show up. Was able to select the "flip/mirror" option. Hopefully this solves my issues.

To Amcrest Technician and Engineers,

Having the same issue. I think everyone can agree with me. The cloud settings are too limited and need to be expanded to the same amount of settings as Amcrest Surveillance Pro software.

Is it possible to just make the Amcrest Pro software the default application for all camera settings? And the cloud would be only used to view and download saved video?

I have learned the entire system and all its settings. I have messed with the cameras and setting for hours on end.

The only problem that should be focused on is the settings being reset and defaulted to the Cloud services cause many of us to loose time overlay and memory card motion detection settings, ECT.

Do all above in this post agree. Only be able to use Amcrest pro settings as default?

I own an Amcrest camera for a week now. I was very excited when I first see so many options in its software. However, when I started playing with those options this weekend, I'm deeply disappointed finding out that many of them are not working or not remembered.

Two of the four options, Channel title and time, in Video overlay are automatically disabled after a while, but the other two (privacy mask and text overlay) seem work fine.

It looks this problem was reported some time last year. I don't understand why it takes Amcrest so long to fix those critical defects.

I think I find who is resetting the settings - amcrestcloud.com. After I removed my camera from amcrestcloud.com on Friday, my settings don't get lost anymore (two days so far, it used to be reset automatically max. a few hours after). I'm not using its cloud service anyway (I added it just for trying out), so this seems to work perfectly for me.

I have had exactly the same problems but on the IP2M-842 and if it wasn't for this forum I would not have know the answer. As stated previously there needs to be 1 of 2 things fixed

1) Have the same options on both the cloud and the camera. Right now the cloud is so simplistic and practically useless to me since I can't define detection regions on a cell by cell basis. Having the cloud attached means I constantly lose my detection settings that I painfully set up. They take time and this was a nightmare to figure out.

2) Have an option on the cloud to not affect the camera settings

I spent an hour on the phone as well as many emails and Amcrest would not admit to the problem and that it shouldn't happen, when quite clearly it does. Very frustrating. Not to mention FTP just doesn't work at all on this camera. The 841 indoor camera FTP works ok, the outdoor does not.

So I either have recordings on the cloud and all my settings jacked up constantly and notifications every 10 seconds for motion events because it keeps resetting my settings, or I have no recordings since FTP is broken but the motion settings are intact. If 1 or both of these were fixed this would be an almost perfect purchase, but as it stands I feel I have a product that only half works.

For those who do not want to use the Amcrest Cloud for their recordings, but may have set it up initially:

The cloud account for your camera viewing has some settings. These cloud account settings will always override your camera settings that you applied through other interfaces, whether it be through the IP Config program/app or through a web browser.

The fix for this (to stop the overrides) is to delete your camera(s) from the cloud account. I actually had to do this twice for some reason, and the second time was a couple weeks after the first time. In any case, this has worked for me for several weeks now.

I hope this has been helpful for those of you who do not want to use the Amcrest Cloud.

I updated to the new firmware hoping they made a change where the settings wouldn't get overridden but this is still an issue.

- I am on the latest firmware (V2.420.AC00.15.R).

- I have hard reset both cameras. I haven't had any issues some other posts mention.

- I pay for and use the cloud for both of my cameras.

- Overlay options (except the watermark, that magically stays!) such as time/date and channel title get wiped out.

- Video quality gets wiped out. I want CBR/30fps/bitrate of 8192.

I am sure other settings get wiped out but these are all I care about. Does anyone from Amcrest have any official word on this? Is it being looked at? Do they recognize this problem?

This is frustrating!

Hello jcamer ,

There are some issues if you are using the cloud as it override some of these settings on the camera. We are aware of this and are working on a fix.
