Anyone else have a IP2M-842 that freezes up? It seems that I have to power cycle this thing once every 4 days or so.
It is mounted outside using wifi only, no other options at the moment. Fortunately, I am still testing it so the power is on an extension cord and not in my attic.
Any suggestions?

Re: IP2M-842 Freezes up
Have you verified that your wireless network is stable? I have a wifi IP2M-842 that had a similar problem and I determined that my access point was locking up every few days, after rebooting the access point things would be fine again. I am recording 24/7 and I think the access point couldn't handle the large amount of data being transmitted constantly by the camera. I replaced the access point with a Netgear WAC720 and that corrected the problem. Best of luck.

Re: IP2M-842 Freezes up
Thanks for the suggestions, but it's rock solid hardware and coverage. It's well monitored too. My other 5 cameras (different models, manufacturer) are on the same SSID, 1 of them typically connects to the same AP too with no issues.
Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LR x2, Ubiquiti included POE injectors, Netgear JGS524 switch, UniFi controller, Ubiquiti ERPro-8, and fiber internet in 3000 square feet.
It annoys me to see that there is a maintenance option pre-set for a weekly reboot... I'd really hate to have to change that to every 3 days or something just for a device to function. Is this a workaround for a memory leak or what? I'm pretty sure developers get fired in the real world for writing code that requires a weekly reboot.
I'm pretty sure it's on the latest firmware as well, it's normally real late when I get home and haven't had much time rather than see if it responds to a ping and power cycle it when it doesn't.

I agree about the auto-reboot option, when I see that I think they are not confident in the stability of their product. That being said I am not using the reboot option and my camera is rock solid, it's been up for at least a month without any issues. Below is my firmware version info (it's an older version than I have on my non-wifi IP2M-842's):
Software: 2.212.0000.2.R, build : 2015-11-02
Web: 3.2.1.273284

I'm having the same problem. IP2M-842E disconnects from NAS several times per day, and usually reconnects within a few minutes. But every 2 or 3 days, it disconnects permanently, requiring power cycle.
I have an IP2M-841 on the same network that works perfectly.

Re: IP2M-842 Freezes up
My 3 month old 842 has also developed this lock up or freezing problem. Annoyingly, the option to auto reboot keeps resetting to off as well. The software driving the camera is bloated and oddly differs in places from the 841s, a model I find works far, far better than an 842.
And sadly, there is only 1 firmware version for the 842. Hard to reflash the device if the firmware version isn't on the website as well.

I am having the same problem: the camera freezes every other day, becomes invisible to the Amcrest IP Config utility, and requires manual power cycling.
My IP2M-842 is connected wirelessly to my NV4108.

Re: IP2M-842 Freezes up
I have several Amcrest cameras working through Blueiris. I just hooked up the new IP2M-842 (black) outdoor bullet camera and I've experienced the same haphazard freeze problem.
When the camera works, it works nicely. But several times a day BI will show a 'no ip' error. Meaning, the IP2M-842 is dropping signal or something.
All of my other Amcrest models are using wifi at similar distances. All others have no issues.
I've tried to install the lastest firmware but i don't think it loaded. It seemed to load successfully but when i view the version it's still show's the one from 2016.
Anyway, I got this thing through Amazon and can still return it. Which i will. I'll get one of the other models that is rock solid.
Moral of the story, I like Amcrest cameras but issues like this are discouraging.

Your firmware is not up to date, that might be your problem.
Re: IP2M-842 Freezes up
I am seeing the exact problem and have to reboot the camera to restore the connectivity. I am getting frustrated as can't access when needed....
Has anyone found any solutions?
