IP3M-943B Losing picture settings
IP3M-943B Losing picture settings
I set my camera up so the picture quality is pristine but after a while it switches by itself from CBR to VBR and a crappy picture. Anyone know how to fix that? I have the latest firmware.

Are you using the Amcrest Cloud also by chance? I believe Amcrest Cloud will overwrite your settings.

Hmmm I never even thought about that but I do have that camera on Amcrest Cloud when I tested it. I deleted it from the cloud and will see what happens. I had the camera turned off on the cloud but I bet you somehow it was doing something anyways. Thank you!

That indeed seems to have fixed it

Yep, Amcrest Cloud appears to negate the purpose of having one of Amcrest’s high-resolution cameras... No way to send a lower-res stream to the cloud without affecting other setting.
Amcrest should sell a super-cheap Camera wth only 1080p resolution as their cloud camera, since using the Cloud feature means you lose the high-res features of your camera, even for local recording.

Hello brianamcrest,
The cloud only support maximum of 1080P resolution for recording. Also sending 3 MP or 4MP video consistently over the network is not ideal as it might fail due to limited network bandwidth.

Melvin, but recording it locally (SD Card or local network) at the highest resolution IS ideal. The point here is that there ought to be a way to have lower resolution stored to the cloud while the max resolution capable for the camera can be kept/stored locally where bandwidth isn't a concern. As it is, the cloud service deprecates the camera quality/capability by overwriting the quality settings. Nobody should want to pay for that!
