Re: IP2M-841-B Disassembly for Plastics Restoration
I appreciate your effort and input, but I have all of ten bucks tied up in this camera and way too much time and aggrevation into it already. At this point it has boiled down to the challenge of figuring out the issue rather than anything else. LOL The reflash didn't change anything. It defaults to ...

Re: IP2M-841-B Disassembly for Plastics Restoration
It gets weirder...
A reset defaults and successfully saves to 1080. A reboot reverts to 720 every time.

Re: IP2M-841-B Disassembly for Plastics Restoration
It actually appears to be the default setting in the camera I have. Fresh power up is 1280x720 / 25fps / CBR / 1024Kb/s / Frame Interval 50 I'll need to sharpen my OBS skills to compile a screen capture covering the entire sequence that leads to the actual issue in real time. Not sure I'm up for tha...

Re: IP2M-841-B Disassembly for Plastics Restoration
... sorry didn't mean to change scope of your thread, No worries. I pretty much opened that door myself. Different keyframe intervals, bitrates, resolutions, codecs, lenses, firmware and users are all dynamic variables in this game. That's why the flexibility to configure a device for the needs or ...

Re: IP2M-841-B Disassembly for Plastics Restoration
An absolutely perfect illustration of exactly what I was referring to! LOL And since I've completely derailed my own thread... For anyone interested in a better understanding of the actual technology involved and its various applications and techniques, below is probably one of the better overviews ...

Re: IP2M-841-B Disassembly for Plastics Restoration
Common practice is one I-frame (key frame) per second on basic HD main streams. Any number of acceptable factors may exist to benefit from either a longer or shorter interval..., not the least of which are the resolution and bit rate realtive to both storage and image activity considerations. Lots o...

Re: IP2M-841-B Disassembly for Plastics Restoration
Cool to come back to all the new pics and info. Well covered and nicely done, Revo. So a week after the alcohol (91%) treatment has had time to set (or dissolve things) I'm happy to report zero new visable goo or residue. Still nice and clean and shiny. After playing around with the firmware (and up...

Re: IP2M-841-B Disassembly for Plastics Restoration
Thank you for the offer and comprehensive follow-up. Been very sidetracked and apologize for the delayed reply.
I'll be back with an actual response when opportunity permits.

Re: IP2M-841-B Disassembly for Plastics Restoration
Back in business. I'm not sure what corrected the image problem but assume it was by reseating and securing the ribbon connector in the camera head. While trying figure out the rotational restriction and tilt snag, I realized the turret assembly was actually backward to the range of rotational motio...

Re: IP2M-841-B Disassembly for Plastics Restoration
Thanks for your follow up. The ribbon on the board was slightly skewed and not all the way seated so I corrected that. Unfortunately it still exhibits the weird behavior so I'm back to total disassembly for investigation of what else I may have screwed up..., starting with the other end of the ribbo...
