IP4M-1026EW-28mm

Post by mhumm2 »

Hello,

I just got the camera 2 days ago and I am still unable to access it via a browser in Kubuntu Linux using Firefox or Windoze 7 Pro using m$ie. I can find the IP address on both systems and I can login to the camera, but both browsers demand a plugin before I can see any video from the camera. The one for FF has yet to be found and the one for MSIE has already been downloaded and run, but the browser continues to ask that the plugin be dl'd and installed. I'm ready to send this back unless someone suggests something I can do to get this camera operational.

Eventually, I intend to add several cameras of the same brand (Amcrest is my first test so far and it's obviously not going well) for home security. I will manage the cameras on my Linux server (Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS) through Zoneminder. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

I think Linux Pale Moon browser was one that would work with the plugin awhile back.

The Amcrest viewer app will work as will Internet Explorer. We really need a firmware update don’t we.
