I have a IP2M-842. I have it setup to save to a local ftp. I have connected to the ftp via various ftp clients. I am able to add and delete both files and folders. Each time i click record in the camera interface i get the following error: "The specified directory does not have write permission, please re-select the path!". However if i clean out the directory and wait long enough a folder called AMC00285_S1DG3X appears. If i drill down through the many directories(to many if you as me) i get to a folder that has files named like this "20.32.17-20.32.17[M][0@0][0].dav_" so it has some kind of access to write files. So i don't know why is says it doesn't have permission. Anyone have and idea as to how to fix this issue?
Thanks!!

Hello Sublevel4,
The .dav files that you get in the last directory is actual recording so it should be working. You need Amcrest Smart play software to play them, link is attached below. When you click on the record manually, its not going to the FTP directory. You need to schedule the recording under set up > Storage > Schedule. Here you can set up scheduled recording or motion detection recording or both.

Hi,
Yes the permission is for local recording on PC. Its trying to record to the location specified under setup > Camera > Video > Path. This is only for manual recording. If that path does not exist , it will not work.
