Input Abnormal Alarm Type

Post by AndyM »

I have IP2M-841 camera and I am constantly seeing "Input Abnormal" alerts in the alerts log file. I am not sure what triggers these alerts. I have only "Motion Detect" and "Audio Detection" enabled in Alarm Type section. Please advise

Hello AndyM,

Please disable the 'audio detection' and check if the alerts stop

Thank you! Disabling Setup -> Event -> Audio Detection resolved the issue

There's no need to disable the Audio Detection. Instead disable the noise filter. That is the root cause of the alerts.

After a frustrating few minutes with tech support on the phone, the person finally got someone else who suggested disabling the noise filter to stop the "Input Abnormality" events. The tech support person couldn't explain what the noise filter was supposed to do, and there is nothing about it in the help page. Does anyone know what it was supposed to do or why it needs to be disabled? Is this something for which an eventual firmware update might help? I'm using an IP3M camera.
