Note that apparently Amcrest View Pro for iPad doesn't work with P2P for remote viewing, only for IP/Domain connection on your local network. If you want remote viewing, you will need to use Amcrest View Pro for iPhone on your iPad (or iPhone) for iOS devices.
The Android version of Amcrest View Pro works with P2P for remote viewing.

So I know this is an old post, however I just had the same issue. When I go into devices on the app I had to choose the device then click the pencil (edit) icon and make sure the live view was set to main and this fixed the issue

Newer IP4M / IP2M cameras do not work P2P on iPad AVP for iPad IOS. This has been known for a year now. And, AVP for iphone has an entirely different GUI when installed on iPad rendering it unusable. Amcrest does not care that they said it would when you purchased the camera.
