Hey guys! I need some help to choose a chime that works with the video doorbell.

The thing is I don't live in the US and all the chimes around here are different (They all use differently voltages). So I am thinking about importing a cheap chime from the US.

Can anyone recommend a chime sold on Amazon for less than 20 dollars?

What do you think it is better: mechanical or digital?

Here is my situation:
My front door, where the doorbell is located, is almost 50 meters from the chime installing place. So I probably have to consider the voltage loss over this distance.

Do I have to use the same power supply for the Amcrest Doorbell and the chime?

I am really confused here. But I need something to make a noise. Not everyone here is I terested on technology and will know how to use the doorbell app.

Sadly I don't want to say you have to use the same Transformer for the Doorbell and Camera as being Creative I can do it using different power however the main issue is that in normal setup 1 wire from Transformer goes to the Switch, other goes to the Doorbell, Then a wire from switch to the doorbell to complete the circuit. So in a since while you can do it you would need to setup a Relay system that when you press the doorbell it latches the Relay and in a since makes that complete circuit that is needed for the bell to ring.. Next issue is the length of time for said latch and again it can be done just have to either use a relay that is able to take the total time doorbell is latched in as control for how long relay is latched and worse case you could built a latching circuit with 555 timer however really not needed unless the time for doorbell to be powered would be over the 10 seconds that the camera can provide with the right FW (Current back to 722)

So 50m or around 165ish feet your looking at a good voltage drop on that distance using large 18awg wiring of over 6% drop and should be enough really for it to work. However most people don't want to use 18awg wiring and use 20awg or 24 awg and doing that isn't going to be good in most cases can even destroy the wire as it will act as a fuse (or can) on 20awg pure copper it might be ok but is outside the normal 10% VDOD... on 24awg that is where it becomes major issue with over a 20% drop and voltage less then 12v and could destroy the camera doorbell, transformer, and or bell.

So if your not one that knows how to make Circuits might want to find a Creative Low Voltage installer that is in your area... IT can be done and as I said would require a Relay and some know how...

If you live in the UK (or eu) then I can confirm the Honeywell D142 Atanta works. It’s not the loudest chime by any means but is listed as compatible (named as Friedland 142) and I have one and tested it as working. It’s about £13 on Amazon.
