Amcrest View Pro App - Push Notification

Hello all, iPhone 6S with push notifications on. I will get the alert when motion is triggered. In configuration, only "live view" works when I open that notification. Video and Image will not load if I pick these options. Only live view. Any idea where I am going wrong?

Same issue here on Android. I called support and they said Live View is the only thing that works

You have to use the playback function to see what triggered the event

Simply terrible IMO

My 2 cameras (ip4m-1028) used to record upon motion detection but no longer records. Seeiously thinking of returning these for a different brand.

So if support knows this, why don’t they have their engineers work on the issue and fix it?

I don't know why they said that unless its the model of the camera. I have two IP3M-943 cameras, and a android phone. The video option works fine on both cameras on my galaxy S8. I get about a 10 sec recording of what tripped the motion detect.

I have this problem to..
I get notification, but no snapshot.. It records video too, but i have to open it manually.
But when choosing snapshot it says there is no content.

The app is TERRIBLE! It has an incredible bad user interface.. I keep forgetting where i find stuff and have to
look around for several minutes before i find it again.. And to view live you have to open the app, click + in the window, choose the camera, then choose the camera again before it opens.. So many clicks just to get live view!

I use Tinycam to view my cameras. I only use the Amcrest app to view video recordings. It really needs a SERIOUS overhaul!

Hello Alpejohn,

Sorry to hear that you find the app inconvenient. For snapshots the camera should have SD card and snapshot on motion should be enabled.

For live view, you can add cameras to a favorite list and that way you can get to the cameras faster. Also, once the app is open click on the video cameras on the top right and then select the camera and it will open.

Melvin,

Please tell me specifically how, step by step, to enable snap shot to me motion recording. When I called support they said it's a known issue.

Regarding saving favorites, would be thrilled if it worked, it doesn't and again, when I called support, they said it was a known issue

The point Alpejohn was making is, the app needs a complete overhaul, one that doesn't require re-learning the app every time we use it and one that doesn't require so many steps that must be repeated each and every time

Thanks for your reply. I dont mean to hijack this thread, but i found out one thing.
For one of my cameras, the IPM-HX1W the snapshot does not work (the video how ever works fine), i also have a IP2M-852W and this camera works fine both with video and snapshot in the app.
I have sd card mounted in both of them.

I tried the favourites, but i am afraid it does not help that much.
Normally, i would open the app > Click + on the screen > Tap once on the camera, to unfold the menu > click the camera > click 4 cameras on screen > click + again > choose camera and it will unfold > choose the unfolded camera.

Then i get both my cameras up.

The favourites makes it a bit easyer;
Click the icon on top right > Select the group in favorites > Start live view > then view 4 cameras

But its still way to much hazzle and things to do before you get to see all your cameras IMHO.
It should be easy and quick.. I dont understand why on earth i have to choose my camera, lets say "Garden" in the menu, then it unfolds to just to reveal "Garden" again where i have to click.. SO i have to click two times when i actually could have just open the camera the first time.. There is just no point doing it like that.. Just more clicks.

Also after i got Android 8 on my HTC 10, the app crashes alot(!) when i open to view recordings.
Your inbox of fault reports ar probably 80% of my reports..


Im sorry, but i think the app is WAY to complicated and hard to use. Look at the Tinycam PRO app, it works great and is fast and easy to use. I dont mind a lot of functions and stuff, but the main thing the app is made for should be very easy to do.

I updated to this latest iOS version app, and also updated my 720p dvr to the latest firmware, now I stopped receiving push notifications for motion detection. I can access the live view fine and also set configurations over the phone. My dvr settings are all exactly the same (I used a config backup through usb). Then when I try to disable push notifications, it even gives me an error message "failed to stop push notifications". This is the issue I'm having, anybody else experiencing this?
