What are your options when you have an SD card fail on a camera that you cant physically get to?
I know when the card fails to show up in the settings, the log shows an endless string of "eject" and the camera constantly reboots, its time to physically replace the card, but can you do anything to break the cycle remotely when its going to be a long time before you can even physically get to the camera?
Remotely ejecting the card isnt possible when it doesnt show up in the STORAGE | DESTINATION | SD settings.
Thanks

Re: Failing SD card on inaccessible camera
In some there is a software eject. If your has it then that can make a boot issue camera stable. Issue is have to get a good login to web. Once ejected want to also turn off auto reboot. If power loss need to go back and eject again.
Be Safe.

Re: Failing SD card on inaccessible camera
Try a Manual Reboot and log in and see if it shows before it happens to fail and goes offline.. Sometimes if logged in right after a reboot the Micro SD card might show up. Once it fails it seems to disapear. I can't say this will happen for all cameras but something to try..
However sometimes a camera will Automatically disable the Micro SD card if there is loads of reboots as a stability measure. Again might not be something that is in all cameras..
What camera are you working with? Might be why it isn't showing up when you look for it.. What does the logs say after it is showing offline does it keep rebooting?

Re: Failing SD card on inaccessible camera
have you tried pinging the camera through the network to see if you can access more advanced commands via SSH or a different remote interface?patric wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 8:30 pm What are your options when you have an SD card fail on a camera that you cant physically get to?
