IP4M-1051 WiFi Reboots on PTZ Action
IP4M-1051 WiFi Reboots on PTZ Action
I have an IP4M-1051 running the latest firmware. It is stable on the wifi until I use the ptz action. After 2 - 3 ptz movements, the camera reboots. Has anyone had a similar issue and can you shed some light on the path to resolution?

Hello and welcome to the Forum...
After doing to FW update did you Reset the camera back to factory?
If not, It is said that needs to be done after doing a FW update then all settings will have to be installed again. If the FW was within the same Software type then I would before going a FW update do a Export of the settings and after doing the update restore the settings to make setting up the camera smooth...
However at this point if you have not already done a factory Reset That is where I would start...
On the others like that camera the Reset button is the LED Press and hold it the system will flash the LED after about 30 seconds and the pan and tilt will start just like it does when it first starts up...

I do face the same problem. ptz controls keeps crashing the camera. I have tried Factory reset, even insert ethernet cable but to no avail. It cant possibly crash due to network speed. What other solutions do you have?

@apparitionx Welcome to the Forum
Sadly I am going to guess if the Cameras when in Pan or Tilt the system crashes and camera Reboots it sounds like a Power supply issue... If you have a backup power supply from another camera of same type I would try and swap out the power supply and see if that helps your case...
Sadly not many people have 2amp power supplies around I am going to guess that the 1051 uses the same 2amp 5vdc power that the 841 uses.. With some of my newer units from 2017 and 2018 they do have a USB charger unit unlike my older units that is connected to the square unit.. If you have a 2amp 5vdc power supply or even a Power pack like my little backup units as long as they have a 2amp output I would try different power supply...
IF on another power supply you have this same issue and the power supply is a good 2amp or more.. Same issue happens it might be that your Camera has damaged wires or bad motors... If the unit is in warranty time I would get it changed out if outside of warranty there are options but not many people out there repair these..

So glad I found this post. I have a couple of the ASH21 "nanny" cameras and was experiencing the same problem. It was the power supply. Apparently, not all USB power supplies are created equal. For setting up these cameras I plugged the into my desktop Pluggable hub. It just wasn't enough. Once I switched over to their OEM power supply the PTZ worked fine. THANK YOU!
