Hello
I just purchased a 960H four camera system. I have tried remote monitoring but without success. I've downloaded the Amcrest Lite app on my Ipad, and followed all the directions on the youtube video. I made sure to run P2P, QR scan, made sure username and password are correct, but every time I try to connect it says "Failed To Connect". The IOS is the latest at 8.2, and I am pretty sure the App is the latest as I just downloaded it today.
As a sanity check, I tried logging in from a PC in my own network (so 192.168.xxx.xxx:80), and that works. Email tests also work, so the DVR device is definitely connected to the internet.
What settings do I need to change to make sure this works? Kind of at my wit's end.
Thanks.
Ipad Amcrest Lite Fail to Connect
Re: Ipad Amcrest Lite Fail to Connect
I think that several of us have had no success with the P2P registration method through an iOS device. What worked for me was to change the registration method to IP/URL. You can then either enter your internal IP address or use QuickDDNS or similar to generate a URL that points to your DVR.
Re: Ipad Amcrest Lite Fail to Connect
Hi
I've actually just tried to do the Quick DDNS route. While on a PC I can get access to the DVR successfully via DDNS, I still was not able to do this via the Amcrest Lite app. I've tried the standard port, 37777, and also 9000 and 80, but none of those seem to work. I was hoping to at least be able to remotely monitor via Ipad or Iphone, rather than being stuck to remotely monitoring on PC.
Any suggestions?

Re: Ipad Amcrest Lite Fail to Connect
Is port 37777 forwarded to the DVR IP on your router? I had trouble until I set up port forwarding for the HTTP, TCP and UDP ports of the DVR.
Re: Ipad Amcrest Lite Fail to Connect
Yup I just altered the port forwarding on my router to no avail. The Amcrest Lite app still cannot connect. Though now it sometimes says "login timeout" instead of "failed to connect".
Re: Ipad Amcrest Lite Fail to Connect
Did you try using the internal IP of your router in the app instead of using the DDNS to see if that works?
Re: Ipad Amcrest Lite Fail to Connect
Yes, I have tried just the IP address instead of the ddns as well to no avail.
It's a little disappointing that it is not quite working, but I guess I can always remote monitor from PC instead of iphone.
Thanks for help, but also let us all know if there any updates or potential solutions for this problem (maybe it's just me as well)

Re: Ipad Amcrest Lite Fail to Connect
I sent you a PM.
Re: Ipad Amcrest Lite Fail to Connect
I had to populate the 'Name' field. After that, I was able to connect. That instruction is missing from the video. I don't think the 'Name' value matters. I just typed in 'Amcrest'.
Re: Ipad Amcrest Lite Fail to Connect
Hi guys
First thanks for bearing with me and trying to help me out on this. I also emailed Amcrest support, and they responded. It turns out for the 960H, the app required is the "Amcrest Link" app, not the "Amcrest Lite" app.
After trying out with the Amcrest Link, it works fine. P2P was able to connect very quickly, and I was satisfied.
Anyways, hope this helps out any other poor souls who may be struggling like I did!
